An interactive microscopy-based approach to liver biopsy interpretation
Objectives:
- Recognize hepatitic, lobular, biliary and vascular patterns of liver injury, and use histological clues and clinical data to formulate a meaningful diagnosis.
- Diagnose hepatocellular, biliary and mesenchymal liver tumors, and differentiate between benign and malignant lesions as well as their mimics.
- Diagnose common post-transplant pathologies in allograft biopsies.
- Recognize subtle histological findings in liver biopsies that appear to be near normal.
