President’s Message July 2020

Greetings HPHS members and friends,

I’m sure most of us are still struggling to fully adjust to the seemingly ever changing and unprecedented global challenges that are continuing to engulf the planet. Although this is a very difficult time, perhaps we can take a tiny bit of solace in that our liver pathology community is steadfast and hopefully continues to provide a feeling of cohesion and purpose.

I want to say a huge “thank you” to all the committee members who continue to tirelessly work on behalf of our HPHS members. Our Journal Watch participants persist in providing an excellent source of recently published liver pathology manuscript summaries and quick links. The Newsletter Committee likewise has been “on task” with producing this new addition. Our Website Committee also has at least one new initiative that will be rolling out soon. All the work that goes into these activities is greatly appreciated!

As you all are probably aware, USCAP this year will be a “virtual” meeting. I am truly disappointed that we won’t be able to gather in person, but I guarantee that this year’s Companion Session will be outstanding, and that we will all unite together in spirit! The Executive Committee is finalizing the speaker line up now, and wow, it’s going to be riveting! Specific details of the format, session length, and individual speakers will be forthcoming.

I hope you all stay safe and healthy, and are able to enjoy at least a little bit of this wonderful summer weather.

Best,
Cindy Guy
